Curious Bee Nature Club

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026

Hello, explorer family! This page explains what information Curious Bee Nature Club (“the Club,” “we,” “us”) collects when you visit our website or subscribe, how we use it, and the choices you have. We’ve kept it short and in plain English, because you should always know where your information goes.

The short version: we collect only what we need to mail your child’s letters and take care of your subscription, we never sell your personal information, and payments are handled by Stripe, so your card number never touches our servers.

Who this site is for

Our website and subscriptions are for parents, guardians and gift-givers (adults). The letters are for children in K–3rd grade, but kids don’t create accounts, sign up, or send us information through the site.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please email us and we will delete it.

What we collect

When you subscribe, checkout collects the following. It is entered on a page hosted by Stripe:

  • Your name and email address.
  • Your billing address and phone number.
  • A shipping name and address (United States only). For gifts this can be different from your billing details. Because letters are addressed to your Nature Explorer, you may choose to enter your child’s name here. We use it only to address the letter.
  • Your payment details (such as card number). These are entered directly with Stripe. We never see or store them.
  • Any discount code you enter.

We save a subscriber record in our database that contains your name, email, phone number, plan (Monthly, 6 Months or Annual), subscription status, Stripe customer and subscription IDs, the amount charged, key dates (sign-up, last payment, next billing, cancellation) and any notes we add while helping you. Your mailing address stays with Stripe, and we use it to address your letters.

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to tell us. Like most websites, our hosting provider also records basic technical information when you visit (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) in server logs.

We do not ask for your child’s age, school, photo or any other details about your child.

How we use your information

  • To create and manage your subscription, process payments and renewals, and send Stripe receipts.
  • To mail the monthly letters to the shipping name and address you provide.
  • To contact you about your subscription, answer your questions, and handle cancellations, delivery problems or refund requests.
  • To send the Club a notification when someone subscribes, so we can prepare your letters.
  • To keep the site secure, prevent fraud and misuse, and meet legal and accounting obligations.

We don’t use your information for advertising, we don’t build advertising profiles, and we don’t send marketing email unless you ask us to.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with the service providers that help us run the Club, and only as needed for their service:

  • Stripe: payment processing, subscription billing, receipts and checkout (stripe.com/privacy).
  • Supabase: the database that stores our subscriber records.
  • Resend: delivery of our internal notification emails (such as a “new subscriber” alert to the Club).
  • Vercel: website hosting and delivery.
  • The US Postal Service: delivery of your letters (via the shipping address you provide).

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, safety or property, or as part of a sale or transfer of the Club, in which case we would ask the new owner to honor this policy.

Cookies and tracking

Our public website does not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers or social media pixels, and we don’t set cookies for visitors browsing the site.

A sign-in cookie is used only on the Club’s private staff area, and only for people who sign in there. When you click Subscribe you are taken to Stripe’s secure checkout, which may use its own cookies as described in Stripe’s privacy policy.

Children’s privacy and parental rights

The Club is designed for adults to purchase on behalf of children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 and we do not market to children through the site.

As a parent or guardian, you can ask us at any time to show you the information we hold related to your subscription, correct it, or delete it. Send your request to the email address below and we will respond promptly.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop contacting you, by emailing us at the address below. To protect your account, we may ask you to confirm details only you would know, such as the email you subscribed with.

Cancelling your subscription (by email) stops future renewals. Deleting your information may mean we can no longer mail your letters, and we may need to keep certain records for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention or legal reasons.

California and other US state residents: depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access or delete it, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under state privacy laws. To make a request, email us; you may also have an authorized agent contact us on your behalf.

How long we keep information

We keep subscriber records while your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward so we can answer questions, resolve disputes, and meet tax, accounting and legal requirements. After that, we delete or anonymize them. If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we will do so unless we are required to keep it.

Security

Payments are handled by Stripe, so your card details never touch our servers. The site is served over HTTPS, subscriber records are kept in a restricted database that only our servers and a password-protected staff area can reach, and we limit access to the people who need it.

No website or system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security. If we ever learn of a data breach that affects you, we will notify you as required by law.
